Enterprise Electronic Data Interchange Platform
Solution Overview: An enterprise Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platform was designed and implemented that would allow the exchange of claims, payments and status notifications to and from providers, as well as, to and from paying customers. The focus of this solution was to provide a system that would ensure all EDI transmissions were processed correctly and automatically, while enabling system wide monitoring and tracking.
Business Benefit: The EDI platform enabled effective tracking and monitoring of all EDI transmissions. It also provided a seamless integration process to and from the internal systems. New trading partners - both providers and payers - could now be added quickly and more accurately by leveraging the framework that had been established.
Practice Management System
Solution Overview: A practice management system was developed that enabled physicians to create electronic HCFA forms (837s) from remote locations and transfer the documents via the internet using EDI. This solution also allowed the physicians to view electronic medical records created from other systems.
Business Benefit: The practice management system enabled a small to medium size physicians' office to acquire the ability to electronically transfer medical claims and information directly to insurance companies. This solution not only speeded up the process, but also reduced the office's dependence on paper.
